No problem, Cynthia, I'll put you on the list, and aim to send out the plants on Monday, when they'll spend less time reaching you, although lemon mint is very tough and hardy - hard to kill off, too.

Jutta, not sure how many of those Cherokees you sent, but two Cherokee beans have arrived here. The pack and outer envelope arrived with splits and others may have escaped down that 'Trail of Tears'. ;D Are there any special growing instructions, please?

WHAT?? Somebody must have opened that as I put the beans in the original little seed-envelope inside that envelope! And did you get the cheque??
They are just planted like any other French beans. (Hey, we're stll beginners!)
I don't know if we have many more cherokee beans, if we do, I'll send some more when I find them/get Martin to find them (no chance of getting any sense out of him at the moment - Wales v Ireland....)

Yes, thanks, Jutta, the cheque, letter and the envelope the beans had been in were there. The side of that was split end to end, but the outer envelope only had a little split in it, and as if the beens had been pushed out - possibly in the sorting machinery? Whatever, I've found a third bean stuck in a corner of the big envelope, and have potted each one up in a pot in my mini-greenhouse tonight. If all three germinate, I'll pop a tripd up for them and save some seeds of any beans for next year, so don't worry about sending more. Been doing a bit more seed swapping today and got some calendular/marigold seeds that I've also planted up in pots. Now I need to find someone to help with the digging and bramble clearing. Hacked my way through the latter to reach the old dustbin that I can use to burn things in, and discovered some little daffs flowering behind that. Goodness knows how they got there. They look like those miniature ones. No blossoms showing on my cherry tree yet, but the daffs look nice - until one looks closely and sees the frayed bits where the blackbirds have been pecking the buds.

Sue ;D, thank you so much for that that huge package of seeds that have arrived here! I feel very guilty now for not yet having got all the lemon mints etc posted yet, but the back is slightly easier now, so hoping that, by the weekend, I can get better organised so that they can go out early next week to everyone.
Ethan's been off school for a few days, and he and his grampy are going to turn one of the old, and empty little chicken runs into Ethan's very own 'allotment', with it's own gate. As chickens were in there until the fox incident, and the suvivors have now all moved in together, the ground in there should be quite rich!
I have suggested that he and his grampy have a competition to see who can grow the biggest pumpkin by Halloween... we shall see! They also hope to grow some of the wallflowers for Ethan's great grandmother's garden, as she loves those. Ethan also hopes to grow 'dragons', too!
We have something that grows every year and may be a relation of the snap dragon - wild version. Very small flowers, but exactly the same shape and with the 'mouth' that can be opened in the same way. The flowers of that are lemon and mauve.

Posted out the lemon mints today and 1st cass, so they should arrive on Wednesday morning. Jutta, enclosed your comfrey seeds, but here is a discussion going on to the effect that, although they ARE green manure, they might not be comfrey! Just make sure that you can identify them before using them as you would comfrey! A few of our grubby fingered gardeners get a bit confused at times when swapping thngs. ;D I got nastursians once when I thought I was swapping something for sweetpeas!

Our 'anonymous benefactor' has decided that this thread has won hs dog coat prize for March, and says how nice it is to see members busy in their gardens and allotments and swapping seeds and plants, thus saving a fortune... (Guess he is another with moths in his wallet? ;D) Anyway, he suggested that those participating here decide which rescue to send the prize to. Anyone wish to make a suggestion, please?
