I have been looking for this thread because I had lost it , I received this from Tailends the other day, but couldn't post it. ======================================= Hi Margaret, The coats arrived today and they are so lovely I cannot believe how well they fit. The dogs are delighted with them. Please pass on my thanks to Ali or whoever is responsible as they are so appreciated. I cover them up when it gets cold at night but you know what it is like when they get up and shake and the covers fall off. I will try to get some photos taken and send to you. ( Ordinary camera though so takes a bit longer to get film developed). The leads which arrived also are again very useful and a big thank you for them too. I cannot get over how kind you all are to us. It is so nice to see the old dogs who have had nothing but hardship in their lives now having lovely things like the luxurious coats. Most of them have had to survive in cold unheated kennels before coming to Tailends where they all live indoors. I do not know how they survive the conditions in these places or in the dog pounds which are often so grim and comfortless - bad enough for young dogs but unthinkable for the old ones like poor Arfa who was in such pain suffering from so many untreated conditions. Happily he is now doing very well and recent tests have shown big improvements. He is also becoming more relaxed and content, realising maybe that he is here for good now and does not have to endure any more horrors. Please feel free to forward on any emails I send as I do want to thank anyone responsible for helping Tailends. Love to you all, Angela & the Tailenders. XXXXX

For those who don't know Chris from Springer Rescue in Ireland has also been spending her time helping the SPCA in Mayo whenever she has the time, she has also been sharing her prizes and donations from TRPD projects with them where they have a greater need and when she has a plentiful supply of collars and leads. Knowing they had a fun day recently she let them have some of her I Need A Home webbing stuff, she did ask if it was OK first . She had also asked if I would be able to represent them on TRPD for a while where prizes were concerned because she has had such a lot of stuff sent to her over the past couple of years she has a plentiful supply for the time being and is eternally grateful to everyone for what she has been sent, so it was agreed that I would send any prizes I won to ISPCA in Mayo for the forseeable future and she will continue to stay in touch and let me know again when she is in need of anything and needs such great help from this forum.
Heres the email from the SPCA in Mayo
Thank you so much for the lovely leads, collars, harness and coat we received from you via Chris Gibbs. We used them at the Dog Show last week and actually found a home for one of our rescuees because of theI Need A Home printing on them. Being in the cruelty business and dealing with animals that have never even worn a collar makes harnesses very useful, and all animal products here are very expensive. We're very grateful for anything at all that you could send us as we rescue and rehome approx 400 animals a year and receive no grant aid from the ispca.
Thank you also for your good wishes, we certainly need them. Our address is as follows:-
Ann Kivlichan MAYO SPCA Ballure Kiltimagh Co. Mayo
Good luck in your work, it is really great to think that people like yourself are thinking of us all stuck out here trying to cope.
Again, many thanks
Annie MAYO SPCA
Isn't it great to hear that yet another wonderful TRPD project is working to rehome the dogs in rescue, I was quite touched to hear such brillinat news and thought it only right that I share the great news to everyone that helps with TRPD.

an old thank you from Chris in ireland, put here due to board tidy up
I had an email from Chris this morning of Irish Springer Spaniel Rescue and this is what she had to say
I have also been very late in letting you know that the prizes from the TPRD Sunday night quiz have been arriving safely & have been very much appreciated by the lads.(no lasses at the moment). All are now sporting new collars & leads. Everyone except Robin, love paddling in muddy puddles & ponds so none of the collars have stayed particularly clean for long. Still they do scrub up quite nicely (dogs & collars!!) Robin,by the way loves his throw toy.
So a very big thank you.
Chris

Thank you so much I know one of the pound dogs will be very glad of these. I am going to put a note up on the site as soon as the RDR team have seen the pic I took. Thanks so much once again it is very kind of you. Bernie xxShe didnt have to thank anyone, it just goes to show what a real nice person she is

God that made me cry.Really sounds appreciated.Irish animals such as cats and dogs really don't get treated well from what i hear. I'm sure some of these thaks would prompt a few more sales if permission was granted to use some of them along with appeals when advertised.
Modified into one post, gotta keep things tidy.

Ditzylips its thanks like this one that really make me keep working and helping here with the Pet Craft Project, people really don't realise that by donating a few small items to the Virtual Prize Box or by doing something like buying a collar or lead from the shop helps us to send these items to the people that really need it like Annie at Mayo SPCA. She has seen some horrendous things in her time working with rescues and if we can cheer her up by sending her the occasional gift for the dogs then perhaps thats what I was put on this earth to do.
Feel free to crosspost that wherever you want if you feel it can drum up business and send some new members this way please. In turn we'll keep up the good work and try our best to help the rescues out where needed.

Today I received a lovely handwritten card plus booklet from Tailends. Even though it's addressed to me personally, I think it's supposed to be shared here! "Dear Jutta. Just a quick line to thank you so much for the lovely greyhound collar and long lead - all in nylon webbing, ideal for us .... (sorry, can't read that). We are very grateful to you for giving these lovely gifts for the quiz. Best wishes, Angela" It's the first time I received such a personal thank you note ... what a lovely feeling!

Had a really bad day today - and then I received this which is obviously for all of us here at TRPD as you have provided the Prize Box:
To Jutta, Every so often we receive something fun, funky and doggy - this week a very smart paw prints collar and lead set plus a lovely raggy. We don't always bother to drop you a line to thank you, but we really do appreciate it and we wanted you to know that. The staff are opening parcels - just like kids at Christmas! - and the dogs always appreciate the contents. Every package causes smiles and "oohs" and "aahs". We all need a little brightness in our day. Thank you for providing some of this! Aimee for all at Happy Landings
(Snivelling again copying the handwritten letter... Especially since I really don't need a Thank You from Happy Landings as I think they do a great job and the staff are always really really lovely when I - too rarely - go over there!)

Another thank you letter to add to the list...
We have received your kind donation of 3 grooming mitts as won by yourself for the Naughty Neddies. We do appreciate you all thinking of us. Once again very many thanks to you all.
Best wishes Jean Daybell Membership Secretary The Cinnamon Trust
On a personal note - I should especially like to thank the person who donated the mitts for me to win in the first place.....and everyone else who gives of their time and effort here. I think you all do a great job!! Take care Jane

Another lovely letter from the Cinnamon Trust, here is gist of it.
We have received the lovely blanket that you won for us. It will be very much apprieciated at our santuary in the cold weather to keep our oldies snug and the lovely warm colours will cheer them up.
Once again we appreciate very much your kindness in sending the blanket you won to us and our grateful thanks for thinking of us.

Personally I think the Cinnamon Trust do a very worthwhile job and I am very proud to be able to support them ocasionally by wining a prize and I would like to thank those who donate to the Prize Box too.

I went to Happy Landings last Wednesday to drop off some things I had collected for them - and again I was told how fabulous the parcels from TRPD are and how it makes their day when they receive one (they've had a really bad year last year and are still suffering from it)

I read about Tailends on here and looked them up on the Internet at the end of last year. I was really affected by the heartbreaking and yet heartwarming work they do, so I put together a shoebox of goodies for them and posted it out in time for Xmas. It wasn't much - just healthy treats that I thought they might like. I got a lovely thank you letter from them but I really wanted to say thank you to TRPD for flagging up some of the rescues out there that work quietly and tirelessly for animals without much or any recognition XXX
