I'm very sorry to have to pass on the sad news that Al [Alison, Old Dragon as she was affectionately known] passed away suddenly on Monday 27th September following a brain haemorrhage. It was very quick which was kind for her, but such a shock for everyone else.
She will be greatly and very sadly missed - she touched so many lives both on here and everywhere else. A truly wonderful, loving and giving person.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with her family and friends.
As soon as funeral arrangements are known, we will post them. We also hope to have a collection for a memorial for Al, and details will be posted in due course.
Please accept our apologies to anyone whom we were unable to contact direct, Kerry and I tried to speak to as many people as possible.
Please crosspost - Al knew many people and it's hard to know whom to contact.
I know this section was originally designed for our animal companions, but Al was such a wonderful friend to all animals that I thought it appropriate she was in here too.
####I'm still awaiting definite confirmation but my understanding is that Al's funeral will be this Friday 8th October, at 2.15pm at Pontypridd crematorium.
I believe this to be:
Glyntaff Cemetery & Crematorium Cemetery Road Pontypridd Mid Glamorgan CF37 4BE
Several people have kindly asked about Al's animals - the chickens and ducks have gone to the stables [who already have poultry]; the horses and dogs are being cared for by family and friends. Help may be required in the near future... and we will post if this is the case.

I think it's absolutely right Al's tribute is placed in Rainbow Bridge, she did so much for animals and she'll be surrounded by the soul's she helped save. All my best wishes and thoughts are with her family and friends. I'll sincerely miss her random pm's and the giggles we had over our silly horse's escapades and our very very naughty mutts, esp Gypsy! Al you'll be missed. xxx And as you signed off on all my pm's

I think Rainbow Bridge is the perfect place for Al's tribute. Goodnight Al, you will be missed by so many “You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.” --Author unknown

Oh my god....oh god...this is just such sad news..... She was wonderful, and such a lovely lady -she will be deeply and sorely missed. The only saving grace, like you say is it would have been quick and hopefully painless for her. Im in complete shock, i know i havent been active on here for a while, but i read her posts, smiled, laughed along with her..... Thoughts are with her friends and family, they must be devestated Sleep well Al, may you be forever happy where you are xxxx

So shocked still after speaking with Kerry. Al was one of the most honest, loyal, loving, giving and humorous people you could ever wish to know. No matter what she always had the time for both humans and all things rescues, animals and nature.
Al, you will be very much missed, you touched so many of us with your friendship.
Love and strength being sent to her family and close friends.
