OH reckons we are in the wong area - but LRRSE do have my details and WILL find me one i know that, trouble is we are fussy with our requirements (well not fussy but careful if you get me lol) - wrong thread for this convo lol
there isnt a rescue local enough to me and as i work full time (albeit from home) i only have mornings free and its currently school holidays
we have a lot of Pinkpaws supporters on Dogpages, the only trouble is that proboard links are not allowed so cant link directly have to tell them to insert pro where the spaces are, dont suppose theres a way round that
every time people are looking for collars/leads/harnesses etc (not just PP supporters but on Dogpages) i do try and direct them this way, but they dont always find what they are looking for - some find the site a bit complicated (as i know has been mentioned up there! ) lol

I agree with you wholeheartdly there Murtle. The thing is i dont have any great ideas for plugging the sales yet - i know certain people find it hard to figure out where the sales thread is, so i was just wondering is there anyway you can bold that part of the forum up?? Maybe put it first on the board so there is no mistaking that is where you buy the goodies from. As for me i have gotten most of the people i know buying things off here just by word of mouth - my girlies always go out in their coats and we get so many comments, if there are others like me that literally get bombarded because its so hard to know where to get nice sighthound coats from is there anyway the slips that come in the parcels could be sent to us (us paying the postage of course) so that they can be put into pockets ready to give to the people interested? Just a couple of thoughts really because like me if you find TRPD and you love the range of sighthound items offered the forum tends to suck you in and you become a steadfast member.

6. Very few members here communicate well - me included, at times. What can we do to try and improve that?
I think there should be a list in each Teams den of everyones private email address so that if you need a team member fast you can just go and look in your Den.

Also what does everyone think to a post in the Introductions and Welcome forum that basically says welcome from all of us existing members - the items for sale are in the sale thread, we do a weekday quiz and a sunday quiz details given so if you support a certain rescue and would like to win them a prize hopefully you'd like to play along. That way there's no pressure and you just saying have a go - most people soon get addicted

I have no idea what to do! Apart from Jazz and Sue/Florrie, there don't seem to be many wolves around at all and I really have no idea how to get other people involved/what I'm doing wrong. I also don't know how to promote TRPD more. It's on the first page of my webshop (and several other pages), I tell everybody if asked re items etc etc
Oh, Nixy - somewhere on here (when I have my brain back I'll try to find the thread) you can get a pdf or word file with the TRPD 'business cards' and, I think, the letter I for one always send out with prizes won that I donated 'from home'.

One thought I've had.... quiz prizes, I don't know how possible/feasible but when people send out quiz prizes is there any chance of them including something to say where the prize came from and why! I know Al has a form that she sends out with her prizes, but I also know that some rescues have received prizes without a clue as to why they've been sent them and by who! I had thought about this too, and what to include with the prizes that I am sending. So I came up with a compliment slip, Word compatible & prints 3 to an A4 page. What do you think? Karen.

I've posted a copy of the sheet I put together to accompany quiz prizes in the 270th Sunday Quiz thread. My thoughts being, if rescues have the complete list of winners, including when so few competitors enter priozes are returned to the VPB, it just might spur them on to publicise details on their forums or in their newsletters to try and encourage their supporters to have a go. Let's face it, most of those who enter regularly (or even only occasionally) managed to win something sooner rather than later. If you wish, I could copy and paste my list into each Sunday Quiz thread, so that anyone who wishes could copy and print that as required? Perhaps then just putting a tick or star beside the item they are sending and possible their own email address, or the group's at the top? I'll also add a couple of our group cards to parcels going out again, and from now on, as I managed to find some today. I know that a few rescues send emails or little notes to acknowledge receipt of items I've sent, and I tend to post copies of those in the 'thank you' thread in the Rescue Forum. I'd like to suggest that other members who receive those also do so. It will help those rescues to maintain their name and presense in the minds of members and possibly help new members to decide whom to donate prizes to.

I have to agree that the site can be complicated for "newbies" to navigate, sometimes it takes me ages to find the sales threads when I want to buy something and I've been using the site for quite a while. Also, as the sales stuff keeps moving, when you post a link to it for users on other doggy sites to see the links are broken and have to be updated.
Some cards to hand out would be great, but my printer is broken. I am going to start writing out copies of the web address to hand out at dog shows etc as people are always commenting on my dog's collar and asking where I got it from. I just have to say google TRPD which isn't much use!
When I send out a prize for the VPB I always include a short note to say it is a prize won, on behalf of TRPD.

Looking at the increases in costs for materials and fittings, and as a result of the recession and exchange rates with other currencies, it is inevitable that we will have to increase our prices. I can probably hold off doing this until the end of the month, but just looking last night at some commercial pet suppliers online, many of our items are currently priced at considerably less at present. Your thoughts on this would be welcomed.

Personally I think it's about time the prices were reviewed. Costs of materials has increased and this can't be sustained at the current prices. Whilst the idea of the site is to help rescues, if the group can't afford materials etc then everyone will loose out.
When a collar of fab quality on here is £4.50 compared to a poor quality (in comparison) from pets at home is over £5 something isn't right.
Just my thoughts.

There are some alarming posts on other forums at the moment about collars from Pets at Home being badly made & breaking!
Maybe a staff member would like to post on there & promote TRPD collars as better quality & being sold to support rescues?
I have plenty of TRPD leads but no collars so am not the best person for personal recommendation
Could you ask Pingu on The Refuge if you could do a TRPD feature post with photos etc?
